REVIEW

Tantra
3550 31st Street Astoria Queens NYC.
I was in Queens this past weekend and had the opportunity to stop by this joint.
The middle eastern inspired decor would lend to a lovely atmosphere if the space wasn't overcrowded. I'm thinking the space hit capacity when hookahs were being served at the bar, and the patrons trying to get drinks were unable to. Leather banquettes line the other side of the bar creating a corridor from the front of venue to the tiny dance floor for those not ordering bottle service, (yes you read correctly bottle service at a Queens lounge) not as pricey as a Manhattan lounge but still pricey enough for me to want to leave Tantra and go to Le Souk, Why stay in Queens at this pseudo version, of what has already been mastered. Behind the dance floor is another room boxed off slightly. Greed in a nightlife establishment lends to a tacky establishment, so beware of Tacky Tantra of Queens.
