NEW MUSEUM OF CONTEMPORARY ART
The new museum of contemporary art is scheduled to open its doors on Dec 1, 2007. Designed by Kazuyo Sejima and Ryue Nishizawa of SANAA, Tokyo, The seven-story, eight-level stacked box structure rises 174 feet and is covered in a silvery aluminum mesh that captures the effects of changing daylight. Located on the Bowery the edifice houses four public galleries, a sky lit 1,100 square foot, glass-walled space located in The Marcia Tucker Hall on the ground floor, a 182-seat theater with lobby space an Education Center, café and Store. The inaugural exhibition begins on opening day and is entitled UNMONUMENTAL: THE OBJECT IN THE 21ST CENTURY runs from December 1, 2007-March 23, and 2008. Check it out.

HEARD IT THROUGHT THE GRAPEVINE:
Topshop the British fashion retailer is moving into Soho at 478 Broadway, which is now occupied by Yellow Rat Bastard whom will close its doors, but has two other store locations in NY.
